Benefits of Natural Latex

Soft and supportive, helps relieves pressure points. Naturally antimicrobial, resists mold, fungus, mildew and dust mites that cause allergic reactions or allergens. Natural latex is a renewable material and is biodegradable.

Cellitex Latex

Cellitex latex uses natural materials, no fillers, and features Celliant fibers – a worldwide exclusive.
Cellitex is a proprietary material that consists of natural latex combined with Celliant technology which is added in during the pouring process. The benefits of these materials are:

  • Healthier sleeping environment from reduced allergen triggers
  • Increased blood flow and oxygen circulation promoting recovery
  • Reduced partner motion disturbance
  • Environmentally sustainable renewable materials
  • Reduces body temperature swings

Natural talalay latex from tree sap

Talalay Latex

Talalay latex breathes up to 7x better than other foams or latex. The talalay cells resist collapsing, allowing air to circulate. This type of latex is hypoallergenic, and is inherently resistant to mold, bacteria and mildew. More benefits of Talalay latex are:

  • Superior support and pressure relief.
  • Unmatched durability and and breath-ability due to its most consistent cell structure.
  • Consistant temperature feeling from top to bottom; no tossing and turning!

Natural Latex FAQs

I have allergies, what would be good for me?

Natural Latex is inherently hypo-allergenic, anti- microbial, and dust mite resistant, making it perfect for allergy sufferers or anyone wanting to breathe fresh, clean air while they sleep. In addition, natural latex is breathable, keeping you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. It costs a little more, but in the long run, it will provide you with the perfect balance of comfort and support for years to come. Our latex is in the form of a foam. There have not been any reported cases of allergies to latex foam. People that are allergic to latex are normally allergic to the type of latex used in making latex gloves. This type of latex in not vulcanized. Cellitex and Talalay latex, used in the Ironman Pure Energy Mattress, are both completed vulcanized (the process of washing out the proteins and impurities).

What is natural latex?

Natural latex is made from a milky substance that drips from the rubber tree when the bark is slashed. The process does not hurt the tree. During production, the latex resin is whipped and then baked. The finished product is biodegradable.

Will it support my back?

Natural Latex dynamically conforms to you, providing superior support and 5-zone pressure relief by gently conforming to your every contour. Latex provides superior back support and outstanding pressure relief. Relieving pressure reduces the tossing and turning that interrupts sleep and brings needed oxygen and nutrients to tired aching muscles for faster recovery.

What is the difference between Latex used in mattresses and Latex used in gloves and other products?

The latex used to make latex gloves are made of closed cell structure. Having closed cells makes it impossible to wash out the proteins, which some people can be allergic to. The latex used in the Ironman Pure Energy Mattress is a foam with open cells. The latex foam used in our mattresses is washed several times to wash out these proteins. This process is called vulcanization. Vulcanization of a 5-stage high temperature sterilization and washing process that denatures and removes all impurities and proteins that may cause allergic reactions.

“When it comes to mattress cores, the key fact you have to keep in mind is that, according to medical literature, not a single case of allergic reaction‎ has ever been reported as a consequence of sleeping on a natural latex mattress. The allergy risk connected with mattress core core negligible, because the latex core is washed thoroughly, the proteins responsible for triggering any allergic reaction are denatured by the high temperatures during vulcanization”Professor Dr.Wim Stevens,Head of the Dept."Immunology,Rheumatology en Allergies" in the University Hospital of Antwerp (Belgium) and Head of the "Immunology" Laboratory of the UIA. He published over 230 scientific articles in Medical Reviews.

Latex vs. Memory Foam Mattresses

With Natural Latex Mattresses, the room does not need to be 65 degrees or higher. Latex has energy helping you to assume a new sleep position, while memory foam creates a ‘crater’ for your body, and you need to physically wake up and lift your body to a new position. Natural Latex is naturally conforming to assure optimal orthopedic support in any sleep position. This helps your body alleviate high pressure areas that can cause you to toss and turn at night.
